    Passionate About Women's Health

Jordan Tobias is a Black woman passionate about leveraging digital media to impact maternal health, mental health, and reproductive freedoms. Tobias is the Founder of The Avenue Doula, an advocacy platform and reproductive newsletter centering healing, spirituality, and community.

Through the Avenue Doula, Tobias provides full-spectrum doula support through online education, virtual meetings, workshops and events, and pregnancy supplies through donations from newsletter subscribers, community members, and businesses to offer participants support at affordable rates.

Tobias began her doula practice on social media and in Washington, D.C., volunteering as a community doula and maternal health events coordinator for Hands Up Outreach Ministry.

Tobias’ goal is to advance women’s health on a state, national, and global level by weaving together her policy and journalism education to advance maternal health and reproductive rights.

She has written for NPR and Street Sense Media and has conducted interviews with some of the nation's top leaders, including former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Professor Dr. Cornel West.

Tobias reigns from Washington, D.C., ake The Chocolate City. When she’s not discussing reproductive justice, she’s gardening, listening to neo-soul music, or trying new restaurants with her day in the city.
